My award winning book series, Bur Bur and Friends, uses a group of multicultural characters who educate kids about self-esteem, sports and outdoor exploration through their experiences. In most of the stories, the characters are learning about something for the first time. The characters are based of of our (my business partners and I) children, who are biracial. We wanted to see more books that had characters who looked like our kids and their friends, so we created the series.
